Portsdown were asked by a customer to provide a bagging machine for wood kindling, it was taking several employees to hand fill the plastic bags at the rate required. The feeder was fitted with special bars to align the kindling wood which travelled in between the bars to reach the bagging station where the operator found the kindling wood accessible for bag filling. The unit was also tested on round logs 10" diameter of a consistent length divided into quarters and found to be suitable.
Kindling wood can now be machine loaded into the hopper and readily loaded into nett bags with a considerable saving in labour costs.
